Fla. Man Says 'I Am God,' Punches Officer in Head

Melbourne, FL — A Florida man was arrested after allegedly running through the street screaming a woman’s name and punching an officer in the head.

Jacob Bortz, 19, of Melbourne, was described by police as “flailing” and “sweating profusely” when officers found him at around 10: 30 p.m. Saturday night, according to Florida Today.

Bortz reportedly shouted, “You don’t know what I’ve been through. I am God,” before punching the officer in the side of his head, Florida Today reported.

The officer tried to use a Taser on Bortz, but police said he just laughed and said, “I like the pain.” Eventually the officer tackled Bortz to take him into custody, Florida Today reported.

Bortz was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and resisting an officer without violence.
