One of the things I enjoy most about Family Fest is seeing the opportunity kids have to meet people that could impact who they are and what they’ll do in the future. It could be apolice officer, a fire fighter, an emergency responder a BMX rider, a dancer or even a Princess!
For the past 5 or 6 years, we’ve had the opportunity to have young women from the Miss America organization at our Fest and on our stages. These young women tell us about themselves and then perform the talent they performed when they were competing in their chosen pageant. In the past we have had Miss LaCrosse/Oktoberfest, Miss Onalaska, Miss 7 Rivers, Miss Onalaska as well as Miss Wisconsin! These wonderful women and role models volunteer their time and talent and we greatly appreciate it.
It never fails, that every year there is a line of girls in the front row, awestruck by what is happening before them on stage. Then the pagent winners head to a booth for a chance to talk to fest bgoers as well as take some photos.
I am sure that more than one girl left Family Fest with aspirations to compete in a pageant and lend their talent as a role model for future generations. Family Fest 2018
