You can have Christmas or Black Friday or Pretzel day…TOMORROW is my favorite of the 365 days we are given! It’s Opening Day, baby! It’s game 1 of 162 for all 30 Major League teams. The Brewers of Milwaukee will travel to San Diego and take on the Padres while my beloved Cubs of Chicago are in Florida to wage battle with the Marlins of Miami. And I am not the only one that is excited…DAIRY QUEEN IS ROLLING OUT A NEW BLIZZARD!
It’s called the Triple Play Blizzard…it’s diabetes in a wax cup…and i have already order 12 dozen of them. It’s vanilla soft serve ice cream with caramel coated peanuts, caramel popcorn brittle, and chocolate chunks. The whole thing is topped with pretzel rods and chocolate drizzled caramel corn. It’s everything that is trying to destroy me and I am probably going to let it.
But…back to baseball…each day, this season, I will be giving an update on the race in the NL Central. Milwaukee looks to make a solid run at the top and the Cubs are hoping to bounce back from a, somewhat, disappointing season that saw them win the Central and lose to the Dodgers in the NL Championship last year.
Will this be the year the beer makers bring home the trophy again? Will the Cubs prove that Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer are baseball geniuses?
