The U.S. Open we all know and (some of us) love is back and it’s torturing golfers.

Let’s sift through some of the carnage that went down at Shinnecock Hills on Thursday and look at some very high numbers:

1. Scott Gregory shot the first 90-plus round in 16 years

He shot a 92 to be exact. Yowza.

2. Scott Stallings carded a 9 on one hole

That would be a quintuple bogey on No. 14.

4. One of the best groups of the day was awful

Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson totaled 25-over.

5. Tiger Woods wasn’t immune to the madness

He opened his U.S. Open with a triple-bogey for the first time ever at this event.
