Some things are universal. Love, slapstick comedy, and bodily functions. Yes, it’s true. Farting is a universal language. A fart is a combination of how much air you swallow with your food, and what food you put into your gut. Here are some foods that you should avoid if you want to have more control over your body noises, or eat more of if you just want to make drunk guys laugh and then clear a room.
Broccoli/Cauliflower – High in fiber, and that’s a carb your body can’t digest.
Oats/Whole Wheat Bread – Also high in fiber, and can be offset by upping your water intake when you eat them. So, get some water handy, gassy.
Milk/Cheese/Yogurt – The lactose is the culprit here. Some supplements can help out with this stuff, but if you get abdominal pain you should see a doctor.
Apples/Bananas/Peaches – There’s that damn fiber again because your body isn’t breaking down all of the sugars properly.
Beans – Yeah, they’re good for your heart, and they’re the musical fruit. Rinsing and draining canned beans can before digging in can help offset some of this.
Soda/Seltzer Water – Carbonation IS gas. It’s got to come out somehow. Drink water or tea instead.
As far as fixes, products like Bean-O can really help a great deal if you’re a chronic farter. You could also keep a food log, and keep track of what you eat and how it makes you feel. Y
