Now that the 2018 Major League Baseball season is underway, it’s time to check out some of the most ridiculous cuisine found at ballparks around the country. Here are some of the most outrageous foods you’ll find at baseball stadiums this season.
Asada Dog – When you head to Chase Field in Phoenix to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks play, this new 18-inch hot dog is a must-try. The huge $28 frank is topped with fries, queso blanco, carne asada, pico de gallo, and guacamole, and it’s all stuffed inside a hot dog bun.
Cheeto-lote – At Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles they’re serving roasted sweet corn coated with a layer of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Dilly Dog – Hot dogs and baseball go hand-in-hand, but if you’re watching the Texas Rangers play at Globe Life Park in Arlington, be sure to try their new dog: The Dilly Dog. It’s a dill pickle, cored and stuffed with a jumbo beef hot dog, and then deep fried.
Lil’ Sweet Chick – At Citi Field in New York, you can now get chicken and waffles. When you’re watching the Mets play you can dine on this mini version of the classic combo, served with honey butter and maple syrup.
Loaded Taco Fries – While you’re watching the Houston Astros play at Minute Maid Park, give their take on nachos a go. They’re fresh-cut fries topped with beef picadillo, lettuce, avocado, queso, sour cream and tortilla strips.
Log Cabin Waffle Sandwich – For another take on waffles, head to Rogers Center, home of the Toronto Blue Jays. Up in Canada they’re serving their rosemary-scented waffles stuffed with pulled pork, cheese curds, and maple baked beans, topped with mole sauce.
Pinstripe Shake – You have to head to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx to try this enormous vanilla shake topped with a churro, cotton candy, a Cracker Jack, and caramel drizzle. It’s the perfect combo of ballpark sweets for Yankee fans to enjoy.
Rocky Mountain Po’Boy – Out west at Coors Field in Denver, they’re serving up this local specialty, but be warned – they’re not really oysters at all. Nope, these are cattle testicles that come topped with garlic slaw, guacamole, green chili ranch, pico, and cotija cheese.
The Spec-Tater – See the Braves play at Suntrust Park in Atlanta and try one of these spuds that come stuffed with a jalapeño-cheddar sausage and wrapped in bacon, then topped with cheese, sour cream, scallions, and more jalapeños.
Toasted Grasshoppers – Last year, SafeCo Field, home of the Seattle Mariners, shocked stadium food fans by adding insects to the menu. And the critters were so popular, they’re back this season. These dry-toasted grasshoppers from Mexico come lightly seasoned with salt, chili, and lime juice and can be a taco topping, or eaten from a bucket, if you’re game.
