It’s kind of comforting to know that even the most mundane of slacker activities has a scientific name. It used to be that when you woke up and just didn’t feel like getting out of bed – you were just being a lazy hunk of crap.

Well, now there’s a medical name for such a “disorder”: dysania. “Dysania” is defined as “a chronic inability to get up and out of bed in the morning.” Those who suffer from this devastating ailment can find themselves “craving their own bed and wanting to get back in it.” That’s a rare feeling, indeed, right?

Before you start running to your primary care physician, however, there’s something you should know. “Dysania”…also referred to as “clinomania”…isn’t yet officially recognized. They also offer-up a quick test to see if you have it. Just think about the words you would associate with getting up in the morning. If the words you thought of are similar to “tiresome” or “frustrating,” then you’re just a lazy fart. If they’re more like “anxiety,” “stress,” or “overwhelming” then…ohhhhh boy…you might just have a medical crisis on your hands. Get back to bed, chop chop!
