ENGLAND — A mother was left with one “farting boob” after the boob job her ex-boyfriend suggested she had went wrong.
Ex-model Emily Nolan had breast implants put when she was 23-years-old to please her boyfriend at the time who told her that “real women have boobs”.
At the time, Emily wasn’t overly happy about going under the knife for the procedure but she wanted to do it to make her boyfriend happy.
Now 32, Emily tolerated years of pain in her shoulders and neck as a result of her 36DD boobs, as well as dealing with embarrassing fart-like noises coming out from them whenever she would raise her arms.
When she met her now husband, Matt she began to consider having her implants removed.
Emily, from Washington in the US, had her explant surgery in September 2016 and since then has been pain and fart noise free, as well as being able to breastfeed her son, Oliver.
“I was a professional model at sixteen-years-old for eight years, until I decided to have my implants removed and pursue a healthier relationship with my body,” she said.
“My implants were put in when I was 23-years-old. I felt validated because I did it for a narcissistic boyfriend who told me ‘real women have boobs’.
“After the procedure I couldn’t believe that women really go through such pain to look a different way.
“That being said, I would have never admitted that truth at the time because I didn’t want anyone to think I was going back on a decision I already had to change my body.
“I had a lot of pain in my shoulders and neck from the weight of my breasts during exercise.
“Also, whenever I’d lift my arms, say to hug a friend, the implants would make an awful, not to mention embarrassing, fart noise.
“You could hear the noise every time I raised my arms, which was truly the straw that broke the camel’s back for me.”
Emily was left with a small hole under one of her boobs, which could have been the cause of the farting noises.
As she got older she worried her dodgy implants would leave her at risk of infection.
“I was afraid of getting an infection and the requirement to surgically replace implants every ten years,” she said.
“Following a visit to Santa Fe and hearing the suction noises under my chest, I knew it wasn’t healthy to have them in my body.
“I am happily married to a man who didn’t care if I had implants or not, so I wanted to delete the bad decision I’d made for another man.
“It felt very strange to have the weight of that old decision on my chest while I was married to a good man who loved me for who I am.”
When Emily had the implants put in she went from a 36B to a 36DD, but is now back to her original size.
After having her second extract surgery in September 2016, Emily contracted an infection which required a second minor surgery as the wound didn’t heal properly.
Once she’d recovered, Emily was able to get back into fitness – as her double D chest had stopped her exercising before.
